If you intend to study abroad, either for a term, a year, or even for your whole course, there is a vibrant Jewish student life in many countries across the world.  Most of the organisations come under the Hillel International Banner and for more detail you should visit www.hillel.org and follow the links.  However, here is a brief guide where you can find student communities.

 

United States of America

 

There are over 200 Hillel Jewish Student Centres throughout the United States.  From Alaska to Hawaii, you will be able to access Jewish life on campus, finding out vital information on kosher food availability, religious and social life and other vital information.

 

Israel

 

With 3 centres in Israel, Hillel is meetings the needs of Israeli, overseas and new immigrant students.  Programmes include social action projects, arts and culture, social events and leadership training.

 

Countries of the Former Soviet Union

There are now 27 Hillel student centres in seven former Soviet republics.  Students there are involved in a wide range of activities including Jewish learning and celebration, arts, cultural, social and wider community programmes.

 

South America

Jewish student life has boomed over the past few years with the establishing of Hillel student centres in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.  Students focus on social action projects, Israel advocacy, global exchange programmes, and arts and culture events.

 

Europe
